New tool allows government agencies to perform remote health checks on goTenna EdgeRelays and Pro X2 devices in relay mode without physical site visits.

JERSEY CITY, NJ (October 10, 2024) — goTenna, the world’s leading mobile mesh networking company, announced the release of the Relay Health Manager app. This companion tool enables operators to conveniently build and manage large, relay-enabled networks and fixed infrastructures with greater efficiency. Compatible with goTenna EdgeRelays and Pro X2 radios in relay mode, this app is available on the Google Play Store and allows end users to perform remote health checks, eliminating the need for physical site visits to remote and austere locations. By connecting the app to the goTenna network, users can send a Health Check Request across the mesh network to receive immediate feedback on the status of all relays within the network, saving critical time and resources to manage nodes in the network.

Among the key features of the Relay Health Manager are the ability to remotely monitor radio battery status, check antenna performance, and assess the relays' operating temperature. Additionally, the app allows users to analyze hop counts, measure RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) strength, and monitor traffic statistics, providing a comprehensive view of relay health and network efficiency.

This app, supported on Android phone and tablet devices, is an essential tool for government agencies and private sector professionals responsible for maintaining infrastructure in critical communications networks deployed in remote or communications-denied environments.

The Relay Health Manager app requires the Relay Health Check (RHC) premium software feature license and an active portal account bundled with every EdgeRelay purchase to utilize these advanced features. The RHC feature also supports health monitoring of standalone Pro X2 radios deployed as relays.

To enable portal accounts for EdgeRelay deployments, contact prosupport@gotenna.com, or to purchase additional licenses for non-EdgeRelay standalone Pro X2 radios, contact prosales@gotenna.com.
