New Chief Financial Officer brings superior track record of delivering results and long-term value creation
March 7, 2021 (JERSEY CITY, NJ) — goTenna, the company behind the world’s most advanced, infrastructure-free, and scalable mobile mesh networks announced today that Avi Shafar has been appointed the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In this key leadership role, Avi is an advisor and a strategic partner to the CEO. He is responsible for tracking cash flow and financial planning and analyzing the company’s financial performance.

Avi spent the past ten years as the CFO of Simulmedia, the leading advanced video advertising company. At Simulmedia, Avi led all the company’s accounting and finance functions. He joined at the pre-revenue stage and played a strategic role in the company’s success and path to becoming a significant business. Prior to Simulmedia, Avi was the CFO of BBE (Broadband Enterprises), an online video network. At BBE, Avi was responsible for all of the company’s financial functions including, accounting, financial planning and analysis, tax and treasury. He also helped lead the company through its successful sale to Specific Media. Prior to joining BBE, Avi was the corporate controller of I.D. Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: IDSY), an RFID technology company. In his role, he led all of the financial efforts, including the filings of all SEC documents and the implementation of the company’s internal controls. A CPA, Avi began his finance career in the audit practice of RSM McGladrey.

Avi holds a B.A. in Accounting from Brooklyn College. He lives in Teaneck, New Jersey with his wife and four children.
