Jersey City-based startup, goTenna, announced today that it is integrating with Blockstream Satellite, the Bitcoin transmission service developed by Bitcoin technologies company, Blockstream.

goTenna develops consumer-grade mesh networking devices enabling users to connect with one another to send arbitrary data and messages, without relying on Internet service providers or cellphone service providers. Today's announcement will enable goTenna users to send and receive bitcoin transactions from a Bitcoin full node via a local mesh network, without requiring a direct internet connection via goTenna's TxTenna tool. Essentially, this allows Blockstream Satellite receivers (people who have set up satellite dishes) to work with goTenna's mesh network devices.
