Schuler CEO
Ari Schuler is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at goTenna. As the Go-To-Market leader, Ari oversees all company sales and business operations. A veteran of both the public and private sector markets, he understands the mission challenges that operators face every day and the importance of using innovative technologies that enable operators to carry out their missions more safely and effectively. Driven by this deep understanding of the mission focus, Schuler is an expert at delivering new capabilities to operators as quickly as possible using innovative procurement and business processes.
Schuler joined goTenna after stints at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Daon, a digital identity trust company.
At CBP, Schuler created and led the CBP Innovation Team (INVNT), a Silicon Valley-style entity focused on leveraging commercial and disruptive startup technology for government applications. Under Schuler’s leadership, CBP INVNT built a reputation for successfully investing in, piloting, and deploying technologies that enabled more efficient and safer operations for CBP personnel. Schuler also served as an advisor to the CBP Commissioner on information technology and innovation matters and worked within CBP’s Office of Information Technology. Prior to joining CBP, he served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for the DHS Science and Technology Directorate. As part of Daon’s leadership team, Schuler was responsible for the global market expansion of the award-winning IdentityX® platform.
D. Garrity CGO
Andrea D. Garrity is the Chief Growth Officer (CGO) at goTenna. In this key leadership role, she drives goTenna’s strategic growth and develops the business strategy across goTenna's public sector markets, business partnerships, and commercial markets. She also leads marketing and sales operations for goTenna.
Garrity has spent two decades in the private sector collaborating with government partners to align technology capabilities with mission priorities. In her previous role, she served as the Vice President of Intelligence Community Support at In-Q-Tel. Garrity helped partners address strategic technology challenges by adopting innovative technologies like AI, field communications, autonomous vehicles, and commercial space. Prior to joining In-Q-Tel, she served as a Client Executive at IBM and helped develop business relationships with Federal agencies.
Shafar CFO
Avi Shafar is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at goTenna. In this key leadership role, Shafar is an advisor and strategic partner to the CEO. In addition, he is responsible for tracking cash flow and financial planning and analyzing the company’s financial performance.
Shafar is a proven leader with a successful record of supporting growth and execution in growth phase startups. He spent the past ten years as the CFO of Simulmedia, the leading advanced video advertising company. At Simulmedia, Shafar led all the company’s accounting and finance functions. He joined at the pre-revenue stage and played a strategic role in the company’s success and path to becoming a significant business.
Prior to Simulmedia, Shafar was the CFO of BBE (Broadband Enterprises), an online video network. At BBE, Shafar was responsible for all of the company’s financial functions, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, as well as tax and treasury. He also helped lead the company through its successful sale to Specific Media. Before joining BBE, Shafar was the corporate controller of I.D. Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: IDSY), an RFID technology company. In his role, he led all the financial efforts, including filing all SEC documents and implementing the company’s internal controls. A CPA, Shafar began his finance career in the audit practice of RSM McGladrey.
Greenbacker CTO
Charlie Greenbacker is the Chief Technology Officer at goTenna. As an 18-year technology sector veteran, he leads software, firmware, and quality assurance at goTenna. His cross-departmental role also involves working side-by-side with goTenna’s team of scientists to further develop products within the goTenna roadmap.
Greenbacker was previously the Head of Federal and Strategic Technology Programs at Snorkel AI, where he was responsible for the entire public sector business. Before that, he was SVP of Enterprise Technologies at In-Q-Tel, leading technology investments spanning AI, analytics, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and more, supporting the national security missions of several U.S. Government agencies. Earlier in his career, Greenbacker served as a communications officer in the U.S. Air Force and held multiple technical roles supporting the CIA, DIA, DARPA, and other elements of the U.S. Intelligence Community and Department of Defense.
Frantz VP, Product
Elan Frantz is the VP of Product at goTenna. His role is to connect market use cases with goTenna's core IP and partner strategy. Frantz has worked in strategic product development for ten years, leading the commercialization of various hardware and software products, including autonomous UAV systems, GIS analytics platforms, remote sensing systems, MANET radios, advanced materials, and more.
Prior to joining goTenna, he was the Director of Product at Airobotics. Before his time at Airobotics, Frantz was Researcher and Project Manager at the University of Oxford Department of Physics. He also worked as an Engineer and in Business Development at PIMEMS, Inc.
Karren VP, Hardware Engineering
Kyle Karren is the VP of Hardware Engineering at goTenna. He oversees the production and development of all hardware at goTenna. Karren brings over 20 years of experience in new product development within the complex electro-mechanical solutions market. He focuses on battery and charger expertise, having developed systems across multiple platforms throughout his career.
Karren was most recently at NantEnergy, focusing on power electronics and controls. He's previously worked at MTD Products, Wamore, and Ultralife. He has a strong background in designing products at scale for aerospace and military applications, which will be very useful to our team and customers.
Bergen VP, DHS & Partnerships
Michael Bergen is the VP of DHS and Partnerships at goTenna, the world's leading mobile mesh networking company and provider of off-grid connectivity solutions for mobile devices. Bergen brings 20 years of leadership experience delivering commercial technology to mission-centric customers.
Bergen leads goTenna's homeland security and partnerships business, overseeing the strategy and sales to government customers. Previously, he was the Head of Public Sector at SafeGraph, led Partnerships and Government Affairs for Orbital Insight, is a former Marine, and has spent his 20-year career in the geospatial and intelligence industry.
